FG - We have identified leads to rescue Chibok girls

abduction of over 200 girls from Chibok

The Federal Government said on Monday that it had identified a number of leads that would help in rescuing the over 200 school girls abducted by insurgents over two months ago.
Mr Mike Omeri, Coordinator, National Information Centre, stated this in Abuja while fielding questions from newsmen at the centre.
`We are moving closer to finding them (kidnapped girls); at least we have identified a number of leads in the course of this exercise (military operations).
“And this is what leads to the arrest of the chief of intelligence of Boko Haram and some of their female recruiters.

“We are getting there, but some of the other information please bear with me and bear with the security forces, they are still classified,’’ Omeri said.
He said government was working assiduously to rescue the girls unharmed.
The coordinator, however, advised landlords to do a thorough background check on prospective tenants before accepting them to avoid people with criminal intent.
He said this was necessary because people with “dubious character and intension’’ were moving to new areas so as not to be detected.
“Landlords must check clearly where their tenants are coming from because of late, people with dubious characters and intensions have moved to new areas.
“Most of these people moving to these areas are people we are actually looking for; so, know your tenant as you welcome them into your premises,’’ he advised
